Save Lake Illawarra Action Group Inc. Mission Statement Our Aim: To fight for money to improve the quality of Lake Illawarra Our Vision: Clean Water Our Action: To involve community members from around Lake Illawarra Some Concerns of Group Members Poor quality water in Lake Illawarra Poor Quality fore shores around the lake Stench, ooze and slime at the fore shores The number of unchecked drains and streams Design and action of entrance channel Drain outlets, which feed unchecked into childrens wading area Our goals are to: Improve water quality Restore a quality environment for marine life Restore a quality environment for birds Improve fish and prawn stocks (breeding and numbers) Increase recreational useage of Lake Illawarra Improve tourism for the Illawarra area We are all part of the Illawarra. Why not: Get Lake Illawarra off the unhealthy lakes list Make beneficial changes we can be proud of Save Lake Illawarra Action Group is willing to work with the relevant controllers of Lake Illawarra to get a positive result for Lake Illawarra. If the Lake Illawarra Authority and both Councils feel it is worth working together for the good of Lake Illawarra, then our group is willing to do that. WE MUST BETTER OUR LAKE BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!
